About Us

Founded in 1952, Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church is a parish that is a part of the Fresno Diocese. The church is situated in Greenfield just outside of Bakersfield, California.  

Mission Statement:

Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church Bakersfield is a parish community devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus through Word, Sacrament and Service. 

I am Father Juan Manuel Flores, the new Pastor of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus here in the City of Bakersfield.  I am very happy to be here, and I look forward to working with you and for you.  Thank you for all of the affection and respect you have expressed and shown me since my arrival.  My satisfaction as a priest has always come from doing God's will, and that is what I try to do in my ministry.  

I feel greatly blessed by God to be here and to be a part of this beautiful community.  May God who has started his work in you as a flock, and me as a shepherd, bring it to fruition.
